Going out to eat tomorrow night!

Why? Because as of July 1st, concealed carry permit holders in Virginia may carry a concealed firearm for self-defense in restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they do not consume alcohol. Anyone else?

  1. That's AOK here in Colorado. Not so much in Montana, though. But Montana actually has some really weird gun laws...

  2. You going to one of the VCDL dinners, or just going out in general?

Don't know what area you're in, but the VCDL is sponsoring "Restaurant Ban Repeal" dinners all over the state.

  3. SailorCurt,

Thanks for the link - I'd love to do something en masse, but Fredericksburg is the nearest form of "civilization", and that's a good half hour away. I think we'll just do our own thing here locally now that we actually have a few restaurants in the county that serve alcohol.

  4. Today's the first day of the Parking Lot law in Indy, but there's enough opposition to the thing that some people I know have expressed leeriness that some employer may try and make a test case today.

  5. HA! You're closer to Fredericksburg than I am, and I live there! It takes me a good 45 to 50 minutes to get into town on a weekend, and that's 4 miles away.
