The non-event?

I did not go armed to church, but carried the rest of the day. This included lunch at a family restaurant in a rather more urban area than I am used to. One woman and two men OC'd with 4 children under 6 years of age with them ... and nothing happened, other than they tipped well.

I went through my usual day and the only funny look I got was at the dump, but I think that was because I was wearing a dress, not because I was wearing a gun.

  1. I love that you had a bunch of kids with you - makes your OCing even better! Thanks, Nancy!

  2. I think the other people at the resaurant were too focused on the screaming, sippy cup-flinging one year old in my lap to notice we were all armed.

    It was good times!

  3. CTone, it's what one-year-olds *do*. And I don't remember the screaming. One person with three kids under the age of 5? You're a better man than I, Gunga Din.

  4. Awesome! I went a bit out of my comfort zone OC'ing yesterday (OK, a lot out) and yet still nothing happened.

Hell, I OC'd at a brewery! Oh the horror!

  5. As promised I OC'd as well. T'was easy since it was too warm here to wear a cover garment. The only reactions I got were in Manitou Springs, the southern Colorado aspirant to Berkely/Boulder-ism; the first from a guy in front of the Yerba Mate' place "Thanks for carrying, Matt always does too" (Matt is a guy I've seen around Manitou wearing some kind of kilt topped by USGI pistol belt and 1911 pistol, today it was the 1911 in a Serpa rig but he still used his lanyard - and his kilt was plain tan, instead of MarPat).
The other was a younger guy who said "Gee Sir, nice gun" (1974-vintage S&W Highway Patrolman). Many more comments and interactions resulted from the two young Airedales who accompany us on our walks.
The rest of the day included errands at PetCo, Safeway and visits to an open house in Manitou.
    "Non-event" aye...

  6. Good on you! My only concern is SD's deadly cuteness. Really you need to be careful of that, lord knows what will happen when she reaches critical mass of cuteness!!!

  7. She's sharp, too! She could recite the names of all 19 members of her class (including herself)!

My only other OC venture out that day was also a non event, buying beer and soda from the local Giant Food. I should have gone for a walk with the youngins downtown.

  9. karleen: I was on the way to someplace else. I drove in, threw the trash bags where they were supposed to go, and drove off. Dumping our own trash means we don't have to pay for pick-up.
