I just finihsed the memorandum opinion. It's an interesting read. Not as entertaining as Scalia or Thomas -- it has neither the ascerbic bite of Scalia's "lemon juice in razor cuts" delivery, nor the sweeping philosophy of Thomas. A very workmanlike fisking. (Maybe a "Robertsesque" opinion? Constitutional lawyers, chime in with your characterizations.)
The opinion I'd like to see is one that explains why Congress has no remaining authority to regulate the details of health insurance under the Commerce Clause, since DECADES ago, they prohibited any interstate commerce in health insurance anyway. . .
"...of an unsocial, taciturn disposition, unwilling to speak, unless we expect to say something that will amaze the whole room, and be handed down to posterity with all the éclat of a proverb."

So tell me again, why am I blogging?

'You know in the bell curve of bad-assness you are on the far edge. Maybe not as far as female helicopter door gunners but you are closer to her that to the soccer moms...' - someone who wishes to remain anonymous

ReplyDeleteI appreciate your vote of confidence, but somehow I don't see scads of Constitutional lawyers amongst my tens and tens of readers. *grin*
