Sweet Daughter started kindergarten today. No tears, but plenty of high-fives instead. (Including ones exchanged between Shorter Half and myself.) She said she had an "awesome" day, and can't wait to go back. I have no idea how long that will last, but I'll enjoy it while it does. I hope it's for another 17 years ...
Public School?
ReplyDeleteOnly feasible option right now, but with family friends in the system as teachers and a parent on the school board, we've got her back for now.

Despite Kevin's pessimism, I think public schooling is fine (I mean, look at me!) as long as the parents stay parents and don't expect the teachers to raise the children. I doubt that's going to be a problem with you folks.
ReplyDeleteI don't *want* teachers raising my daughter. Private schools aren't necessarily better, anyway. I've seen what parochial schools can do to a kid when given too much power.
ReplyDeleteDamn straight.
